Menu Plan Monday

It's been awhile since I've actually menu planned and share it will y'all.

Before I even get started can I just make a statement...

grocery shopping with a toddler!

I'll give you a moment to get all your ahhhs and I hear ya girls. Miss Bekah is tall enough to reach into my buggy and I made the mistake of taking her to the store alone really close to bed time. I spent way more time then I normally do in the store because I was bending down ever minute to pick up something she had grabbed and throw out of the cart. At least the store wasn't crowded.

Last week I went out with all of my girlfriends and I was admiring (as I always do) my friend, Laura's fingernails. She has her nails done professionally and I so wanted to take a trip to the salon as like an 8th month pick me up. So, I made a deal with JAG - If I meal plan and cook all week with no eating out can I please have my nails done? Of course he agreed - anything to motivate me to cook and help our budget!

I was so excited to see that Edie at Life in Grace started doing a series this week on menu planning! Her posts taught me how to plan through Google Calendars and link it to my phone, so I'm no longer printing recipes. I can also share it with JAG's ipad so that if I am running late he can pitch in! LOVE it!!!

Go visit her blog at: http://www.lifeingraceblog.com/. She broke everything down into three parts: Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3. I just adore Edie even more now!!!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I hope everyone is having a great Valentine's Day! Our celebrating began last Friday with Shelby's school parties.

Thanks to Pinterest, we made these adorable valentine cards (can be found here). Shelby loved them because they were different than anyone else's.

I have been waiting for years to make a snazzy card box like my mom made for me when I was little. This year I got to put all of my training to good use.
It was more difficult then I remember - mom made it look so easy!

Friday night Shelby went to her first dance. Parents had to attend as well - I am not sure how either of us felt about this, but she actually wasn't too embarrassed by her mom. I tried my best not to dance but I was tapping me feet in the corner most of the night.

It really did make me think about how innocent they all are right now. Next year they will be in Junior High, cliques will be formed and life will change - I am not looking forward to that at all.

Most of the night the scene looked like this - Shelby and her friend standing, watching other kids dance. I did catch her busting a move once, but just for a second.

This morning Shelby woke up to her door covered in hearts. Each heart expressed another feeling that we have about her like she is a great big sister. Another Pinterest idea - I am on a roll!
Sad to say I got all worked up about this I spent time think of things and cutting out hearts. Shelby looked at it and said "that's nice." Meh!

Well, at least Bekah was excited for Valentine's Day!

Channeling Martha with my Pinterest Addiction

Remember when I had a meltdown about not becoming  June Cleaver as soon as I said “I do”?
I think I am setting myself up for the same type of let down – this time I am channeling Martha Stewart. You see since I learned that I will get to be a stay at home mom for about 3 months after Bekah comes home I have been making a mental list of all the crafts and house projects I will complete. Yes, I know I will have an infant, but for some reason in my daydreams she is a self-sufficient infant.
Now this daydream has exploded with my recent addiction to Pinterest. Have you been there? If you have then you understand the pure addiction (like crack) to re-pinning all your dreams on to beautifully organized boards that you probably named My Dream Home or Crafts I will Do!
Here are a few of the millions of things I am in love with, going to make or cook in the future!

I love love love it! You have got to try it, but beware remember when you first got on facebook …it’s that addicting…or as some might understand (like JAG) it’s as addicting a World of War Crack Craft.
