Purpose

I am really not sure how to put this post into context or how to tell you why I want to share this with you. Again, honestly, I sit here in fear that I will be criticized for my blog becoming too religious and no longer being real. Lately, to me real is figuring out my path again, my purpose, what I should focus my time on, what matters in life. Should I stress to fit in activities that I once felt were important, it keep titles that I once let identify me or should I step back, re-evaluate and confirm what I should be doing?
This morning I was cramming in the end of my bible study that will be covering today. Once that was completed I decided to just flip open a bible sitting next to me and just read the first page I see. The version of the bible is The Message. If you haven’t heard of it, it is a bible in contemporary language. I use it sometimes when I want to fully understand scripture. This morning in my random flipping I came to Proverbs 16: 1-9.
Everything with a Place and a Purpose
 1 Mortals make elaborate plans, but God has the last word.

 2 Humans are satisfied with whatever looks good;
   God probes for what is good.

 3 Put God in charge of your work,
   then what you've planned will take place.

 4 God made everything with a place and purpose;
   even the wicked are included—but for judgment.

 5 God can't stomach arrogance or pretense;
   believe me, he'll put those upstarts in their place.

 6 Guilt is banished through love and truth;
   Fear-of-God deflects evil.

 7 When God approves of your life,
   even your enemies will end up shaking your hand.

 8 Far better to be right and poor
   than to be wrong and rich.

 9 We plan the way we want to live,
   but only God makes us able to live it.
It seems fitting for my struggles this week. Don’t you love the way that happens?

  1. Don't you just love when God speaks to you to allay your fears of what others will think of you? He is ALWAYS there for you, just as He ALWAYS will be.
    Loving Blessings, MCF
