Another pudgy picture from our trip.
So here I am talking about my weight again. I know there has to at least be one person out there who is saying “get off your big booty and do something about it already!” All I can say to that is I am trying, but motivation is the area where I am lacking most. Last night before bed a read an article that my friend James re-posted on facebook and it caused me to think all night long.
Drew Magary posted the how-to’s of his Public Humiliation Diet. Along with the normal steps in dieting (no sweets, no seconds, try to avoid carbs), but what he also did was weigh daily and post it publicly on twitter. Magary said, “What I found doing this is that it 1) gave me public incentive to stick to a goal; 2) garnered support from people.” Magary wound up losing sixty pounds in five months.
So would you do it? Would you post your weight publicly everyday knowing that all your friends and family would know the truth? Would you continue to post even if you were gaining and not losing?
Oh that number…I hate that number. I am not sure if I could do it. It may be a good thing…this may be what I need to kick myself into gear. Should I do it?
I am not sure about you, but I have that fear that someone I know would say (to themselves of course) “oh man…she really let herself go.” Oh I don’t know what to do…guess I need to pray on it!
Read Drew Magary’s full post here, just a warning about his language and also his last line about thin people is WRONG, but he probably did mean it.
