May I Please Introduce you to Jay?

Almost four years ago I was flipping through channels and stopped on the Sundance Channel. I think at that very moment fate stepped in. I viewed the opening credits for One Punk Under God. It was a documentary that focused on Jay Bakker. I was very familiar with the Bakker name and had watched countless hours of the Bakker family when I was young which made me even more intrigued with Jay.

Since that I day I have followed Jay and his ministry within Revolution Church. Listening to Jay’s podcasts from Brooklyn, New York has become one of my weekly rituals. I cannot put into words the impact that Jay has had on my life. I could go on and on, but you probably would never understand. That is why I am asking that you take the time to “meet” him for yourself.

To date Jay’s sermon on March 7th of this year has to be my favorite. During this sermon he discusses his mother’s life. I invite you to start there. You can find it here.

Also, as I was looking for a good picture of Jay I found this awesome article about Jay and Vince. If you read my blog regularly then you have heard Vince’s name before. He was a huge support to me when James’ was killed.

The last quote of the article written by Ethan Pettit states “Transparency and honesty are a big part of what we practice. We are as earnest as we can be, and as honest as we can be, and my example is Christ”

Now I challenge you to spend time on Revolution’s website. Please trust that you will learn something. My hope is that you will see and feel what compassion and grace is all about.
