Bliss

The word of the day is bliss. Bliss is defined as a state of extreme happiness. I would say that was part of my weekend.

My parents came into town Friday afternoon. I was shocked to see how much weight my father has already lost.  He was in a pretty good mood which I was thankful for. We got to spend some quality time with him and Shelby did not notice that anything was off.

I am not sure if people would think that me keeping all of this from Shelby is a good thing or not. She will probably not see my parents again until this is over. I don’t want to worry her with the what-ifs. She has seen both sides of cancer. This past summer her grandmother’s good friend died of cancer and she has also seen her Brownie Co-Leader survive. She knows people can survive from this. And in all honesty my daughter can be dramatic enough without knowing that her grandfather has cancer.

The bond this child has with her grandparents is immeasurable. In her opinion, they are the bee’s knees. She is completely and totally spoiled rotten by them. I made sure to take a few pictures before they left just so we could have them.

I am not saying that anything will happen. I am trying to be as positive as possible about the entire thing. My concern with whether or not my father is being positive. He has mad statements to my mother to make me believe otherwise. I hope that he stays strong and tries to fight this. I really don’t want him to give up.

Life isn’t a Grey’s Anatomy episode…just thought I would let you know. That has kind of been my motto lately when dealing with waiting for test results. On Grey’s they make everything look so easy especially when they show doctors in viewing CT scans as soon as they happen…no need to wait, no “come back next week for results.” They know right then the outcome.

Blah! Let me tell you the good things that happened this weekend.

Saturday morning I went with Lacy to a much needed manicure/pedicure session. It was awesome to spend time together minus our girls. I really should have taken some pictures. We need to do that more often. It was a good morning.

We did lunch and then I went with my mother to Shelby’s soccer game. JAG met the parents and he passed with flying colors! A little too flying…my father told me not to mess it up (not the exact words the used). It was awesome to have them meet. My parents were kind of shocked that I introduced them to a guy. I guess you could say this one is pretty special.

After a tearful goodbye with my parents on Sunday JAG took me to the Greater Tarrant County Car show and I feel in love! We are talking L-O-V-E love with this:

Yeap…it’s official. I have fully grasp my soccer mom mini-van status and now I want to upgrade. This vehicle was awesome! The seat stow away so easy! It’s nothing at all like what I currently have. Ahhh…it had leather along with all the other bells and whistles. I wanted to drive it out of the show room, but at $42,000+ it had to stay there. Maybe someday!

I had a wonderful evening last night with JAG. I am looking forward to many many more. I am in true bliss…this is what it feels like

When I googled “bliss” this showed up in the images. This is a window’s desktop “bliss” and I agree…it is very blissful.

I want to leave you with a few verses that have been close to my hear recently.

Romans 15:13 (New International Version)
13May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Jeremiah 29:11 (New International Version)

11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
